Casi Joy, Ashley Levin “The Voice” Battle Video: Watch ‘How Blue’ Performance
“The Voice” Battle between Casi Joy and Ashley Levin had three coaches fighting for the steal on Monday. Check out the video below!
As Gossip Cop reported, Joy’s Blind Audition performance of “Blue” turned all four chairs. She also received a standing ovation from the entire panel. But though she said she was open to pop and rock, she chose to work with country superstar Blake Shelton.
Shelton’s team, of course, is filled with country artists, including Levin. As per usual, all the members had to face-off in pairs, and Levin was tasked with going up against Joy. For the performance, the coach assigned them Reba McEntire’s “How Blue.” In rehearsal with guest adviser Luke Bryan, Levin was concerned about standing out from Joy.
Shelton also predicted this would be his “toughest battle,” to which the contestants reminded him, “You did this to yourself!” After the performance, which started a capella, the rest of the panel was blown away. Alicia Keys declared, “It was like bonafide battle status. They were coming for it!” Adam Levine agreed, saying, “That was a boxing match.” Keys went on to tell Shelton, “I don’t feel good for you.”
A conflicted Shelton told his artists, “I pray, I hope everyone stays on the show.” And after he named Joy the winner, Levin got three chances to stick around. Levine hit his button first, with Stefani immediately after. It then went from a double steal to a triple steal when Keys pushed hers, too.
Host Carson Daly even admitted, “I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen all the other coaches go in.” Levine pointed out that he not only went for it first, but was the only one who said earlier that Levin deserved to win the battle. Stefani touted her “newfound love” of country music, while Keys pointed out that Levine was the “only one” who didn’t turn around for her during the Blind Auditions.
Faced with a tough decision, Levin chose to join Team Alicia! Watch below!
