Intimate Details of Heath Ledger’s Life May Be Revealed in His New Spike Documentary
We haven’t heard much about Heath Ledger since the star’s untimely death in 2008. Now, thanks in part to the Spike network, both his life and death will be honored.
In I Am: Heath Ledger, an upcoming documentary on Ledger’s life, key individuals will reportedly be interviewed, offering new details and fresh perspective on Ledger’s career and personal life. The identities of those key individuals are yet to be revealed.
While the Australian won hearts in multiple films from 10 Things I Hate About You to A Knight’s Tale to Brokeback Mountain, he became a legend after portraying the Joker in The Dark Knight. Ledger’s performance went on to garner a posthumous Academy Award in addition to many more honors.
Spike has featured several high-profile individuals in its I Am documentary series, but Ledger’s life holds particular intrigue. While his official cause of death was ruled an accidental overdose, rumors remain in circulation regarding its root cause. One popular belief is that the actor fell prey to the darkness of the character he was portraying at the time.
In 2005, Ledger had a daughter with fellow thespian Michelle Williams, Matilda Ledger. While Matilda is now 11, Williams has gone to great lengths to protect her privacy.
