Is Han Solo getting grounded? Harrison Ford’s flight privileges might be in danger after a close call Monday that found him buzzing over the top of a 737 filled with passengers while landing at John Wayne Airport in Orange County. Ford made the mistake of landing his single-engine aircraft in the 737’s taxiway while it was waiting for takeoff, putting more than 100 lives at risk. NBC reports that the incident is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration, who could suspend his license.

While the FAA didn’t confirm Ford was the pilot because they don’t hand out names, they did provide NBC with the details of the incident.

“Air traffic controllers cleared the pilot of a single-engine Aviat Husky to land on Runway 20L at John Wayne Airport Monday afternoon. The pilot correctly read back the clearance. The pilot then landed on a taxiway that runs parallel to the runway, overflying a Boeing 737 that was holding short of the runway. The FAA is investigating this incident.”

Ford, 74, may best be known as the pilot of the Millennium Falcon, but he’s been flying planes and helicopters for decades and is well known as a collector of vintage aircraft. While his hobby has gotten him hurt a few times, he’s mostly known as an excellent pilot and has even been known to provide emergency helicopter services near his home in Jackson, Wyoming.
